MY COACHING METHOD
-
FOCUS
I begin by identifying what you want to learn and change in practical ways, in how you lead. And also how resolute you are in trying to achieve this.
-
REFLECT
Next we reflect on how you operate currently and the ways in which your strengths can support the changes you want to make – and where they may be the blockers. Through regular discussion we begin to change the habits which hamper your own potential.
-
ACTION
The last step? Each coaching meeting identifies the specific areas where you will experiment with new leadership behaviours – and you put those into practice ready for further reflection at the next meeting.
Changing how you lead needs not only coach support, but also everyday help from your line manager. So the start of a coaching assignment begins with a meeting with the leader and the line manager to agree what needs to change and why. In this way, there is daily support from within the organisation to embed new behaviours and mindsets.
